Ortal, Blue Bite's Director of Software Engineering, is originally from Israel and grew up in Connecticut. She has a BA in Business Administration and an MS in Computer Science from Sacred Heart University, as well as an MBA from Western Connecticut State University. She's built a children’s literacy website that is being used in her local public schools, and has done expert witness work for software litigation. She was a software engineer for about 10 years before moving into leadership, and she's passionate about making the web not only a beautiful place, but one that is accessible to everyone. When not at work, she reads a ton of fiction and also enjoys gardening.
